Are Dental Implants Painful?

Mar 30, 2015

Teeth that have become infected and have developed an abscess need to be removed. This can lead to gaps in your teeth and can cause bone loss in your jawbone. So, what’s the best way to replace those pulled teeth?

Dentures are among the treatment methods for people who are missing many teeth. However, they’re not a permanent treatment option and are not that effective, either. Dentures can slip, and can cause bone loss, too.

Dental implants, on the other hand, offer a permanent, long-lasting solution for missing teeth, and they enhance your smile. Dental implants are actually, as the name implies, implanted into your jawbone, so they function just like your original teeth.

We perform the dental implant procedure with extreme care and precision. We first check to be sure you have an adequate amount of bone mass to hold the implant. Then we insert the anchor into your jawbone and attach the post to it. At this point, the jawbone is allowed to grow around the anchor and make it part of the jaw. This takes three to six months. Once the anchor is set, you return to our offices and we cement the artificial tooth onto the post and your implant is complete.

Don’t live with missing teeth and an incomplete smile; schedule a consultation about dental implants.
